Security
Security and data
Your workspace holds client files, media, recordings, contracts and payment details. Here is how Scope keeps them separate and under your control, in plain English.
Your workspace
Your workspace is yours. Each workspace's data is kept separate from other workspaces, and team members sign in with their own accounts. You own your content; we use it only to run Scope for you, as set out in our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
Your data
Shared on your terms.
How client access, links, recordings, AI, signatures and payments work in Scope.
Clients see only what you share
Clients use a portal without creating an account. They see only the project they are invited to, and only the sections you choose to show.
Share links and portfolio pages
Portal and file share links use access tokens. Anyone with a link can view what it shares, so revoke links you no longer need. Published portfolio pages are public until you unpublish them.
Recordings, made by you
The Mac app records your microphone and system audio, or the room. No bot joins the call, so tell participants and get consent where the law requires it.
AI that asks before it acts
Scope AI works with the content in your workspace to answer questions and prepare drafts. Changes to your work are applied only after you approve them.
Signatures and records
Scope Sign records the consent step and signing events. Every signed contract comes with a signed PDF and a signing certificate.
Payments
Client card payments are processed by Stripe through your own connected account, and card details are entered in Stripe's payment form.
FAQs
Questions?
Found a security issue? Email hello@heyscope.io with the details. Please don't access other people's data or disrupt the service while testing.
Does Scope add a bot to my meetings?
No. The Mac app records your microphone and system audio directly. Tell participants you are recording and get consent where required.
